PETER ROWE PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION

We welcome Perth based photographer, radio announcer and musician, Peter Rowe to the gallery this May. Rowe has been a professional photographer for many years but never exhibited before. The Hay Shed Hill gallery is the perfect launching pad for his work. From a huge range of subject matter Peter is able to capture the light and beauty in nature and objects alike.

Painting and drawing on anything he could find had been a big part of Scott’s early childhood days, despite his partial colour-blindness. As he grew older life’s distractions got in the way and things took a different tack for a while. But his love of developing and creating ideas and seeing them come to life in front of him was still burning strong inside.
Many years later after an inspirational time spent in the UK and Europe being surrounded by and visiting some of the world’s artistic highlights Scott’s passion resurfaced. With no formal training it began as a creative outlet and form of stress relief after a day’s work. Scott’s body of work has developed over the years into a pop art and street art stencil based style. Bold colours and mixed media elements are introduced with his strong love of music and pop culture also highly evident in much of his work.
Scott’s counts his time involved with the Condor Carpark Project as one of the most exciting times in his short artistic life with the chance to paint with, be inspired by and interact with some of Perth’s most underrated and most respected artists. This also led to Scott’s involvement in the painting of the Gasworks building for the Perth Fashion Week Festival.
While exposure to Scott’s work has so far been limited to a close knit group of friends and supporters this does not reduce the passion with which he goes about his work and he is continually pushing for new ideas, processes and formats to express his ideas.
